I’m Obsessed With…

The last couple of days I’ve been obsessed with Lie to me! I started watching the series from Saturday afternoon and I’m already at season 2. It’s awesome!! One of the best series I’ve watched… well ever, and believe me when I say I’ve watched a bunch!

Lie to Me is an American television series that premiered on the Fox network on January 21, 2009. In the show, Dr. Cal Lightman (Tim Roth) and his colleagues in The Lightman. Group accept assignments from third parties (commonly local and federal law enforcement), and assist in investigations, reaching the truth through applied psychology: interpreting microexpressions, through the Facial Action Coding System, and body language.
I can’t believe I’m watching it only now!?

Tim Roth plays Dr. Cal Lightman, and I have to say, they couldn’t have picked a better actor to play the part! He is the master of the role of his insane character, the way he walks, the way he gestures with his hands, everything fits his character like a glove!

Kelli Williams plays Dr. Gillian Foster who’s Lightman’s “partner in crime”, she’s the beautiful and strong woman behind Lightman’s craziness, the one who keeps him in his place, but she’s also the soft and caring, cute one who eats chocolate pudding at
10 a.m.

Lightman and Fosters relationship is adorable, (remember I’m only at season 2) both of them care a lot about each other but doesn’t admit it. Lightman’s daughter even sees the “romance” between them and told Foster she likes it when her dad is with her because he’s happier.

Brendan Hine plays Eli Loker, he made the decision to never lie, it’s fun watching his character for his honesty and his straightforwardness, it always makes me laugh! The first time he told a lie it was concerning his feeling about a woman he really cared about (BUT she was part of one of their assignments), and it turned out she was lying to him.  After that he lied about an assignment he clearly disagreed with how Foster handled and used muscle relaxers to lie to Foster. He was then made an intern by Lightman without pay, but was not fired, and now he have to work his way up and earning their trust again.

Monica Raymund plays Ria Torres, the “Natural”, she is called the natural because of her natural ability to detect lies and read facial expression, which Lightman is a bit jealous about, because he studied years to be as good as he is, and to her it came naturally. With this relationship between Ria and Lightman, it’s hard for her to fit in, because Lightman tests her in her assignments and makes things a bit hard for her. She is really good, she’s strong and beautiful and can’t understand the ways of Lightman, it’s hard for her because she’s so good at reading people, normally.

Hayley McFarland plays Emily Lightman, the daughter of Dr. Cal Lightman. Kay Panabaker played Emily Lightman for the pilot episode. Her one scene was opposite Tim Roth begging him not to use "covert science" on her date for the evening. After filming she was recast with Hayley McFarland. The scene was re-shot and the aired version featured McFarland. A picture of Panabaker can still be seen on Cal's desk though.

It’s hard for Emily to have a normal teenage relationship with her father, Dr. Cal Lightman, because he instantly know when she lies to him, she wants to be treated as an adult but he’s the overprotective father that knows that lying have consequences and wants his daughter to understand that.

If you haven’t started watching Lie to Me yet, DO SO NOW! :)
I absolutely love this series and can’t wait to get home from work in the evenings just to climb in my bed and watch Lie to Me! It holds your interest with every new assignment they have to do in the Lightman Group, they entertain through their relationships with each other and keeps you glued to your seat from the beginning of an episode until the end. It’s so addictive!

Watch it… Watch IT NOW! :)
