Clapham Common in Summer

I figured that with the extremely cold weather we’re experiencing in London these last few days, and with the hot weather back home in South-Africa, I’ll post some photos from the 18th of July when Stephanie and I took Riley to Clapham Common for a swim when it was still hot in London. Riley absolutely loved it! We bought him his first popsicle, which he devoured in less than a minute and basically just made a big sticky blue mess of everything, but it was worth it to see how much he enjoyed it. Luckily we also had the pool to get rid of most of the sticky blue popsicle mess.

I just relaxed in the shade of a tree reading a book while Stephanie & Riley played in the water. Afterwards, we walked around in the area and went to see The Holy Trinity Church in Clapham Common which opened in 1776. The church is most famously associated with William Wilberforce and the group of friends known to history as “the Clapham Sect”. They  campaigned for the abolition of the slave trade, and the spiritual and moral reformation of the nation.PicMonkey Collage2PicMonkey Collage3On the way home we also came across St. Mary’s Church, tucked away between buildings, if it weren’t for the church clock tower, you wouldn’t even notice there was this beautiful building.P1050826PicMonkey Collage4PicMonkey Collage5
